Graduate Level Research

  •  Involves the ability to identify and navigate the breadth of resources available in your discipline
  •  Includes the ability to move from a process of summarizing to synthesizing what you've read. This process involves good documentation, properly formatted citations, summarization, and identification of the theoretical framework and methodology.
  • Includes the ability to understand the ethics behind using proper citation methods and an ability to apply those methods in your writing. Practicing academic integrity!
  • Includes the ability to conduct a literature review in order to synthesize the contextual ecology from which your own research arises. This process is similar to telling a story and involves an unraveling of the people, places, dates and ideas that that form the story that you’ll build upon.
