Guidelines for Using Library Licensed Content

Using Library Licensed Content

Emily Carr University of Art + Design Libraries provide access to electronic resources under license agreements that limit their use to students, faculty, staff and other authorized users. To ensure continued availability, all users must follow the terms of these agreements, as non-compliance could result in a vendor suspending or terminating access to these resources.

  • Commercial use is strictly prohibited
  • Systematic downloading; that is, bulk or automated downloading of large amounts of content from electronic resources, including saving entire journals, multiple consecutive articles, or large sections of e-books, often using scripts or rapid downloads is strictly prohibited
  • Do not ingest journal articles, book chapters etc into Generative AI tools as this may constitute a copyright violation.
