- Free, full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals which covers all subjects and many different languages. There are currently 9172 journals in the directory and 6407 journals are searchable at article level.
e-artexte This link opens in a new window
- LIBRARY CATALOGUE: e-artexte contains over 26,000 records for contemporary art publications in our collection. These art books, magazines and other published works may be consulted in our reading room during our regular opening hours.
  DIGITAL REPOSITORY: e-artexte is also an open access platform for contemporary Canadian art publishers (museums, artist-run centres, art galleries, etc.), authors and artists to upload digital versions of their publications (or born digital publications) for anyone to download for free. A Creative Commons licence is attached to each digital document, and these licenses will inform users how they may re-use these digital documents.

- The aim of these pages is to provide a single point of access to research completed at MA and PhD level on the work on contemporary women artists and feminist art deposited in a national archive or University repository. This information is currently very hard to find beyond national borders. This was the rational for making an international resource available in this area and on this subject.
Inuit Artist Database This link opens in a new window
- The Inuit Art Foundation is proud to present the Inuit Artist Biographical Database. This database features historical and contemporary artists from across Inuit Nunangat and southern Canada working in a wide range of mediums. Each biography includes relevant biographical information, an artist statement, exhibition and publication history, collection information and major achievements. The information on this site represents the diversity and vibrancy of the field and is both a platform for artists as well as an extensive resource for artists, collectors, curators, academics, and more.
  The database is a work in progress, with new artist profiles added regularly. We encourage you to help us build a robust database containing Inuit artist biographies.

- The Metropolitan Museum of Art creates, organizes, and disseminates a broad range of digital images and data that document the rich history of the Museum, its collection, exhibitions, events, people, and activities. Images of artworks in the Museum's collection fall into two categories: images of works the Museum believes to be in the public domain, or those to which the Museum waives any copyright it might have; images of works the Museum knows to be under copyright or other restrictions.

- MoMA’s evolving collection contains almost 200,000 works of modern and contemporary art by over 10,000 artists. 65,000 works are available online.

Wikimedia Commons is the image site for Wikipedia. If you want to upload a photograph to a Wikipedia page, you should upload it on Wikimedia Commons. Once you’ve uploaded, Wikimedia Commons will give you a file name that you can embed in a relevant Wikipedia article.

Use the same login and password that you would for Wikipedia on Wikimedia Commons, and all of the Wikimedia Foundation’s sister sites.
All Images on Wikimedia Commons have some sort of public domain license. This is a requirement of all uploaded images.
Use the Upload Wizard on Commons to upload photos.
The most widespread Commons license is the CC0 (Creative Commons) ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License, but you have options when you upload.
When you share your work on Wikimedia Commons, you grant anyone permission to use, copy, modify, and sell your work.

What can I upload?

You may upload works that you created entirely yourself. This includes photos and videos of:

natural landscapes, animals, plays
public figure and people photographed in public places (only with consent in some cases, depending on local laws)
useful or non-artistic objects
original graphs, maps, diagrams and audio

What am I not allowed to upload?

Commons can’t accept work created by or based on the work of others – including photographs of it. By default, you can’t upload someone else’s work. This includes material such as:

logos
CD/DVD covers
promotional photos
screenshots of TV shows, movies, DVDs, and software
drawings of characters from comics, TV, or movies – even if you drew them
most pictures published on the internet
photos of you not taken by you (the copyright holder is the person who took the photograph unless it is a formal work for hire)

Exceptions

You can upload someone else’s work if the author granted permission for anyone to use, copy, modify, and sell it – by releasing it under a free license. (Be sure to provide a link to the source, where the license is stated.)
You can upload someone else’s work if it is in the public domain (usually very old works).
You can upload your photographs of public domain works, such as old buildings, statues, and art.
