Databases

Many of the library resources can be searched together through the library’s General Search. However, if you are interested in a more limited search, or want to access resources not found in the General Search, you can access databases individually.

Please note, when accessing databases from off campus you will need to login using your ECU email user name and password. For the full list of databases the library offers please visit the A-Z Database List on the library home page.

- Provides scholarly and popular LGBTQ+ publications in full text, plus historically important primary sources, including monographs, magazines and newspapers.
- Includes a specialized LGBTQ+ thesaurus containing 9000+ terms.
Feminist Art Theses This link opens in a new window
- The aim of these pages is to provide a single point of access to research completed at MA and PhD level on the work on contemporary women artists and feminist art deposited in a national archive or University repository. This information is currently very hard to find beyond national borders. This was the rational for making an international resource available in this area and on this subject.

ArQuives

Homosaurus This link opens in a new window
- The Homosaurus is an international linked data vocabulary of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) terms. This vocabulary is intended to function as a companion to broad subject term vocabularies, such as the Library of Congress Subject Headings. Libraries, archives, museums, and other institutions are encouraged to use the Homosaurus to support LGBTQ research by enhancing the discoverability of their LGBTQ resources.
