Neurotools - Available for Checkout or in-Library Use

All the items from this collection are available for 7-day loans, with two renewals possible (as long as nobody else is waiting for them). You can find them on the Neurotools Display on our upper level, between the Graphic Novels and the Board Games & Stuff collections. If you are using them in the Library, please return them to their original locations. We do encourage you to check them out even for in-Library use, as that way we can collect information on the most popular items!

Senso slug
These multi-color fidget slugs have a flexible body and make a soothing clicking sound when moved.
Tangle
The Tangle has a smooth and easy twisting and turning motion. Great as a stress buster, for stimming, for hand exercise and coordination, as a distraction, for sensory processing, or just for fun!

Bubble Poppers
Pop pop pop! These fidgets make a soft 'popping' noise similar to bubble wrap (albeit quieter and more discreet).
Press the bubbles down to pop, then flip it over and begin fidgeting again!

Spinner Ring
Spinner rings have an outer band that spins around the actual ring. These classic fidgets provide the opportunity for quiet, discreet movement that won't distract others.
Three spinner rings available in sizes 6, 7, and 8 (currently missing).
Jacob's Ladder
Hold the ladder by the top and rotate your wrist forwards and backwards to create the optical illusion of wood pieces flipping. A calming visual stimulation, and the click clack of the wooden blocks provides auditory sensory stimulation as well. Also useful to stimulate wrist flexion and extension for stiff hands.
Glitter Wand
Clear tube filled with glitter and metallic shapes gently suspended in liquid. Its calming, fluid motion is perfect for visual stimulation or as a fidget toy. A fun and stimulating visual experience.

Cat Fidget Spinner
A classic fidget spinner made of three cats chasing each other in a circle. The cats have been superglued onto the central spinner so they will no longer randomly fly off when spun too hard.

Hat with Brim
Three brimmed ball caps with Neurodiversity Pride infinity rainbow patch created by Margaux Wosk (Retrophiliac) on side. The caps are adjustable with velcro fasteners. One size fits all. 80% polyester, 20% cotton.

Plastic glasses with tinted lenses in pink, turquoise, or yellow.

Adaptive rubber pencil grips to enhance stability and control over a writing implement while improving ergonomics and reducing strain.
Easy read (accessible) ruler
Vibrant markings are colour coded to eliminate the confusion and strain of reading from a standard ruler. Colour coded graduations for 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 and 1/32 plus millimeters and centimeters mean no guessing or counting lines. Black background allows for even greater clarity. Features Imperial measures on one edge, metric measures on opposite edge. Zero bottom edge on the left side allows for easy height measurement.
The Feeling Wheel
Designed by Dr. Gloria Willcox, the Feeling Wheel is a proven visual aid that helps people recognize, talk about, and change their feelings. It is composed of an inner circle with six segments corresponding to six primary feelings: mad, sad, scared, joyful, powerful, and peaceful. It has two outer concentric circles describing secondary feelings that relate to the primary ones, painted in lighter shades than their counterparts.
